Is the Penalty for Pharmacy Errors Too Lenient to Teach Pharmacist Some Lesson?

The Queen Clinic and Pharmacy is Always at Your Service

(PharmaNewsWire.Com, March 25, 2017 ) ON, Canada ---- Every life on earth deserves the right treatment especially at the hand of the supposedly right people. But how would pharmacist react if patients find it hard to give their trust and respect to pharmacists? Can a single pharmacy error still be considered as forgivable in spite of the great risk that goes with it?

Find out with TheQueenClinic.ca, the best pharmacy in Mississauga if the penalty for committing a pharmacy error is really too lenient or reasonable enough to be for patients to take.

Trending in the Global News, a 90-year-old woman from Nova Scotia faced death after suffering from racked body infections and breakdown of the immune system. The main reason behind the death? A pharmacy error.

TheQueenClinic.ca gathered that this troublesome news came out when the death of Bernice Bond came out due to an incorrect dosage of methotrexate from The Nova Scotia College of Pharmacist. After a careful investigation, the pharmacy discovered that it was the fault of a pharmacist named Alexandra Willson to ensure that Bond got the right dosage of medicine. As a result, it led to the death of Samantha Rumley’s grandmother Bond.

As an answer, the pharmacy served a two-month suspension to Willson and a fine worth of $12,500. Willson was also required to pay for the legal costs, submit a series of improve quality assurance programs, write exams, and apologize to Bernice Bond’s family. However, Rumley sees the penalty as too lenient compared to the life that was taken to them. Rumley was asking for Willson’s license to be removed as well.

Bond’s family wasn’t able to console and get close to her due to the severe body infection that rooted from her immune system. The 90-year-old woman suffered a lot until her immune system completely collapsed due to infections several weeks after taking the wrong dosage of medicine.

TheQueenClinic.ca confirms that Bonds received a total of 75 mg. of immune suppressant dosage instead of 15 mg. on Wednesdays. The new pharmacy assistant under Willson actually made the error but Willson failed to recheck the package before Bonds was able to receive it. Instead of removing the 10 mg, and 5 mg, pills in the package, the unnamed new pharmacy assistant removed only 5 mg. pills.

Based on the investigation, TheQueenClinic.ca confirms that the error rooted from the assistant’s lack of training and experience, as well as negligence. To ensure that any pharmacy error will not be encountered, patients must visit a trusted pharmacy in Mississauga only such as The Queen Clinic.
