(PharmaNewsWire.Com, January 30, 2017 ) Canada ----- Pharmacies are indeed one of the best places that everyone can think of when it comes to queries about medical prescriptions. TheQueenClinic.ca confirms that pharmacists are some of the most important people in delivering the accurate health care for every patient.

Pharmacists are health professionals who know well every detail about drugs and how it works to patients. So, what could possibly happen if they commit a mistake? TheQueenClinic.ca pharmacy in Mississauga is here to enlighten everyone about how important it is for patients and pharmacies to be aware of their medical prescriptions.

According to La Trobe University, a pharmacy’s job does not only focus on preparing the necessary drugs for patients as prescribed by their doctors. It is also their job to provide the finest pharmaceutical care they pledge for; be accounted of their medical history; assess the suitable medication for a specific patient; inform patients the proper intake of medicine and its potential side effects.

But once a pharmacy commits a mistake, nothing is considered a simple or minor mistake. Any mistake committed by a pharmacist or the entire pharmacy itself is serious as it could put a life in danger. But the worst thing that can happen to a patient due to pharmacy’s mistake is death.

Recently, news about pharmacy’s serious mistake made a big buzz on the news as an 8-year-old boy was said to have died last year. The big buzz was made possible by the boy’s mom who submitted a petition to Ontario’s Health Minister requesting that all medication mistakes reporting should be mandatory. Based on the last report, Melissa Sheldrick’s petition already has over 1000 signatures of in-favored citizens.

The death of an 8-year-old boy named Andrew Sheldrick was due to accidental switching of his usual medication for parasomnia into a toxic dose of Baclofen. It was 4 months after the boy’s death that a report was made and states that it’s a compounded Baclofen for relaxing muscles and not Tryptophan that took the boy’s life after sending him to sleep that night.

The compounded medical prescription was said to have the same color as Andrew’s medicine and the boy didn’t said anything whether it tasted the same or not. Therefore, there was no other way to know about the pharmacy’s serious mistake and negligence. Now, the accused pharmacy is facing a multi-million dollar lawsuit from Andrew’s family.

Who knows how many pharmacy in Mississauga or even worldwide that commits mistakes like this. Thus, TheQueenClinic.ca is always keen when it comes to providing the necessary healthcare for patients. Trust the experts, trust TheQueenClinic.ca.
